The Very Best Guacamole Dip

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 medium sweet or mild onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  •  Juice of one fresh lemon
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced fine
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  •  Tabasco sauce to taste

Peel avocados, split, and discard pits; then slice. In a food processor or blender, finely cut the onion and garlic, do not puree. Remove the onion mixture to a large bowl; set aside. Place the avocado slices in the food processor or blender, puree the avocados with the lemon juice until smooth consistency. Put avocado mixture into the bowl with the onion mixture, and add the tomato; mix well. Add the remaining ingredients, and blend well. Cover the bowl, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve with tortilla chips. Can also be used as a salad topping over shredded lettuce.
